Remember early commercials where they showed it bouncing signal from satelite, back when cell phones were very few or did not exist. Also XM no longer, if they ever did, use the SATCOMM system. If GM really cared they'd convert the system to something more modern and fix no signal issues for XM and Nav. That also makes OnStar useless for downloading directions since it needs to know where you are to tell you when to turn.
And on one occasion when I needed the Nav in the worst way, I was getting a no GPS signal. And the way their system is a new disk can do that. The turn out was there but in 20' I was looking at 5 strands of barb wire, at night! It was a pasture. And on one occasion it routed me to a road never built. The one installed on assembly was from 2009 and the first three attempts to use it sent me to locations that no longer existed. They just came out with a new disk for my 2011. I'm beginning to wonder if Nav updates are worthwhile.
You will need a DVD burning program to burn it to DVD. Hit OK and it will combine the contents together so you now have the.iso in your Nav folder. (Click on 'extract to' at the top of that window, and choose your Nav Disk folder. (as long as you did not change the name of the files when you downloaded them it will automatically combine them together).
Double click on one of the files and winrar will open showing you the contents of BOTH files. Once you download BOTH files, Create a folder on your desktop called 'Nav disk' or something like that. You will need winrar to unzip them or another unzipping program.
