Alternate Continuity: The series is apparently a separate canon from the games, as "A Shaman's Shaman" appears to indicate that this is Tak's first meeting with Traloc, when Tlaloc was the main villain of the first two games.

Adapted Out: Several characters originating from the game series never appear in the cartoon, most notably Tlaloc's minions Pins and Needles, Moon Juju, Flora, Fauna, the Two-Headed Juju and Jibolba's brother JB.Lok bullies Tak in certain episodes of the animated series whereas in the games he was, while obnoxious and only occasionally helpful, very supportive of Tak to the point of being a wannabe Big Brother Mentor.Tak is still well-meaning for the most part, but the cartoon noticeably makes him more arrogant and willing to use his magic for personal gain.Adaptational Dumbass: Tak is noticeably a bit dumber than he was in the video games. The Dark Juju Travis is renamed Darkness Juju.Mind Reader Juju is renamed Psychic Juju.
